Judge Richard Posner on gay marriage

Judge Richard Posner, arguing against same-sex marriage bans made by Wisconsin and Indiana, believes that gay marriages do not harm anyone. In fact, he says that gay marriages help the orphan community by providing a safer, more stable family-oriented household for these orphans to thrive. Would you like to be raised in a gay family? I strongly disagree with Posner mainly due to the manner in which he conveyed his arguments. He ignored any form of response argument points made by Wisconsin and Indiana attorneys insightful or not and, instead, virtually labelled his own personal beliefs, without strong supporting evidence, as the highest importance and of the only "sound" logic to ever exist period. In my opinion, Posner is a very narrow-minded man. He threatens to overturn tried and true American policies, and exchange them for laws that only benefit ourselves directly. Does he even think of real future consequences? Putting an orphan in his or her own home does not mean that it is a better environment than an orphanage; you need a biologically correct family. Once again, this is another classic case of people attempting to justify their sins by making them exempt from the law. I enjoy the argument made by journalist David Benkof of the 1967 Loving v. Virginia case arguing against interracial marriage. This argument states, "Blacks and whites are the same and completely interchangeable. Men and women; and mothers and fathers, are not." If Posner thinks that same-sex relationships with adopted children are more superior than those of natural, heterosexual relationships with adopted children or not, he should read this statement. The simple truth is that men and women are biologically different. Taking the argument even further, the Bible also condemns same-sex marriages in Romans 1: 27 stating, "Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Additionally, Romans 1:32 says ", who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." I end my argument against same-sex relationships here. To combat a man such as Posner, we need the truth of the Bible. It's as simple as that. Everyone struggles with some sort of sin. Sin is not okay even if we can't help ourselves, but that gives no reason whatsoever to make your sin legal.
